Yemenis have taken to the streets of Yemen to protest against the Saudi-led war , backed by the US,on their country and to condemn the United States’ support for the coalition.
A protest rally against Saudi military presence in Yemen’s southern province of Hadramout was held on Monday by dozens of women that support the UAE-backed so-called of Southern Transitional Council (STC), raising banners and slogans denouncing a series of assassinations carried out the Saudi-funded Islah party (Muslim Brotherhood) paid fighters against citizens of the province.
Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC)’s employees and trade unions organized a protest vigil in front of the United Nations Office in Sanaa following Friday prayers, renewing their call for the United Nations to press to release the oil derivatives vessels held by the coalition and the so-called Aden economic committee, and condemning the silence of the United Nations and non-response to their demands, despite their continuous sit-in for 105 days.
Residents and employees of Hodeidah province also held a protest rally to condemn the ongoing violation by the coalition and it paid fighters in carrying out the UN-sponsored Sweden agreement, raising banners slogans deploring the war crimes and violations being committed by the coalition against the Yemeni people, and blaming the United Nations the full responsibility for pressure the aggression states to stop the war and lift the blockade for Sanaa international airport and Hodeidah ports.
Dozens of human rights activists , for their part, organized a mass rally against deteriorating the health situation in Yemen’s southern city of Aden, demanding the Saudi-backed resigned Hadi’s authority improving the health sector’s services and providing public hospital with medical supplies,releasing several videos showing the environmental pollution and dirty water in streets of the city.
On Thursday, medical sources revealed that a new epidemic inflicted a number of people over the past few days.
Women in Mahrah province held mass rally on Friday demanding departure of Saudi forces and dismissal of Saudi-backed governor Rajeh Bakrit, who is being accused of corruption.” Free women of Mahrah have taken place in today’s demonstrations to express their popular rejection against the invading forces and their militias,” one of the women taking part in the mass rally said in an official statement.
Dozens of protesters , in addition, held a rally in Ibb province to condemn the coalition’s crimes and Bahrain conference to target Palestinian cause, saying normalization with Zionist entity by some Arab regimes, which look as traitors for religion and the Arab nation, and expressing that Islamic peoples refuses to normalize with the Zionist entity and defend sanctity places and occupied territories.
Hundreds of People in city of Sayoun staged a mass rally condemning the Muslim Brotherhood’s presence in the Hadhramout province,whereas many leaders of the so-called Southern Transition Council, supported by the UAE occupation forces took part.
The Southern transition Council called to revive Southern Earth Day, demanding the departure of Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar and the Islah leaders from Hadramout Valley.The participants raised banners demanding the departure of the first military region forces belonging to Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, and other banners praising the southern transition supported by the UAE.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.
