The Israeli military is planning to attack Ansarullah, a new report says, a move that is claimed to be part of the Tel Aviv regime’s attempts to ensure the group never comes in contact with Iran.
According to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jaridah said Thursday that Israel was gearing up to pound targets of the Ansarullah and Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement in Yemen, near the Straits of Bab-el-Mandeb separating the Red Sea from the Gulf of Aden.
The report claimed that the Israeli spy agency Mossad as well as the regime’s Military Intelligence were specifically looking for alleged attempts to deliver weapons from Iran.
It further claimed that some of the Houthis’ drones and missiles had been transferred to Iraq instead in an alleged attempt to mislead the Israeli military, which is said to be behind a series of bombings that have targeted Iraqi popular mobilization forces, Hashd al-Sha’abi, over the past weeks.
The failure of the Saudi war on Yemen will have grave consequences for Israel as Tel Aviv fears that Washington’s bid to isolate Tehran is unwinding, according to a report published by Israel’s leading daily Haaretz ealrier this month.
“Oil sites in Saudi Arabia and the Emirates have been attacked by drones and Saudi airports have been targeted by Scud missiles… The apparent outcome is that the Emirates has abandoned the war in Yemen, the Saudi effort has failed,” wrote Haaretz on Friday.
Israels Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly said in august: If Iran tries to block the Bab al-Mandab strait, it will find itself facing an international coalition determined to prevent it. This coalition will include all Israels army branches as well. That coalition had already been set up in 2015 by Saudi Arabia in partnership with Persian Gulf countries like the United Arab Emirates. Israel is also an unofficial partner. Israeli cyber companies, gun traders, terror-warfare instructors and even paid hitmen operated by an Israeli-owned company are partners to the war in Yemen. Now Yemen is being described by some observers as a mercenary heaven thanks to hefty sums of money paid to them by Saudi Arabia and its wealthy Arab allies.
Earlier this year,Tel Aviv is a partner to the Saudi war on Yemen and is “reaping the profits” from its partnership in the brutal aggression, Israel’s leading daily Haaretz, revealing that Israeli officers are training foreign mercenaries, led by the Colombians and Nepalese, in UAE-funded camps situated in Negev Desert.
The mercenaries, it added, later took part in the Saudi offensive against the port city of Hodeidah and other conflict zones in Yemen. American sources were cited as saying that Israel has also sold bombs and missiles to Saudi Arabia, some of which are banned.
“Israeli cyber companies, gun traders, terror-warfare instructors and even paid hit men operated by an Israeli-owned company are partners to the war in Yemen,” Haaretz said.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.
