Southern Transitional Council militias, which funded by the United Arab Emirates launched large-scale offensive operations against the exiled Saudi-backed forces ” Hadi and al-Islah party militias” in various areas of Shabwah province, south-east Yemen, local sources reported on late Thursday.
Por STC media outlets reported on Friday that UAE-backed paid fighters attacked a number of military posts where Hadi’s forces and members of the Islah party are stationed in Mayfa’a, Habban, Nisab and Merkhah districts.
Militias of the Southern Transitional Council and the so-called the 9th Brigade forces loyal to the UAE on Thursday deployed in Tor al-Baha area of Lahj province to counter any movement of Hadi’s forces towards Aden province.
According to sources, the deployment of the UAE-backed paid fighters near Tor al-Baha comes after the withdrawal of the so-called 4th Brigade led by Abu Bakr al-Jbouli from the fronts of the western coast and return to Aden.
The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s paid fighters stormed a house belonging to a military commander loyal to Hadi’s government in the southern Yemeni province of Aden.
According to sources, armed paid fighters elements affiliated to Aden’s security director Shalal Shaya loyal to the UAE stormed the home of Colonel Jalal Abdul Nabi Maqtaa, staff chief of the so-called the third protection brigade loyal to Hadi, in al-Memdara area of Sheikh Othman district.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.
