Clashes in southern Yemen make Yemenis bleed

At least 40 people were killed and wounded in violent clashes happening since Thursday morning in the Ahwar district of Abyan province in southern Yemen, between units of Hadi forces and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), military sources said Thursday evening.
The sources confirmed that Abdul Haq Mohammed al-Dawi, a senior officer of the 1st presidential protection brigade, and four of his companions were killed, along with a military lea der in the STC named Salem Awad al-Sahimi. Additionally, eight military vehicles were destroyed.
Deputy Foreign Minister in The National Salvation Government, Hussein al-Izzi expressed concern over “imminent clashes in the occupied territories”, referring to the growing conflict between Saudi-led coalition rival militias, which seek for control and influence.
“We are following with concern the preparations of the parties to the conflict in the occupied territories,” Hussein al-Izzi said in a tweet .
– Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) or Doctors without Borders said its hospital in Aden city has received 51 wounded casualties during heavy clashes in the province in August.
The MSF on Twitter account said “that 10 of them dead when they reached its hospital.”
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.
