Foreign Deputy minister discusses areas of cooperation with UNESCO

Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi discussed on Sunday with the UNESCO delegation, which is currently visiting Yemen, headed by Anna Paolini, areas of cooperation between the two sides and ways to enhance and develop them.

In the meeting, al-Ezzi reviewed Yemen’s exceptional richness and cultural diversity throughout history.

He said the Yemeni people and their history and culture are targeted by aggression for seven years, destroying the global heritage of peoples and human civilizations in Yemen.

Al-Ezzi called on the international community and the United Nations, led by UNESCO to convey the reality of what is happening to the historical heritage in Yemen.

He expressed the aspiration of the National Salvation Government to strengthen and expand the partnership with UNESCO during the current year.

Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the readiness of government bodies to provide all necessary facilities to enable UNESCO to carry out its humanitarian activities.

In return, Paolini stressed the organization’s keenness to deepen the partnership through expanding its activities throughout Yemen in to preserve heritage and highlight the distinguished diversity of the country, its people and its unique mosaic in various aspects.
