Israeli Airstrike on Rafah Kills Five Palestinian Civilians, Injures Others
At least five Palestinian civilians were killed and several others injured on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike targeting Rafah in southern Gaza. The attack marks yet another escalation in the ongoing conflict that has devastated the besieged territory.
Local Palestinian sources reported that three young men lost their lives when an Israeli drone bombed a group of civilians in the Al-Janina area, east of Rafah. In a separate incident, two more civilians were killed in an airstrike by Israeli warplanes in the Khirbet Al-Adas area, north of the city.
These attacks are part of the Israeli military campaign on Gaza, which has persisted since October 7, 2023. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reports a staggering death toll of 43,764 people, the majority of whom are women and children, with 103,490 others injured as the humanitarian crisis deepens in the region.
