The Head of the National Redeployment Team, Major General Ali Al-Moshki, met today in Al-Hodeidah Governorate with the Acting Head of the United Nations Mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement, Mary Machita.

During the meeting, Al-Moshki reaffirmed the leadership in Sana’a’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of citizens, highlighting government initiatives to open humanitarian roads and corridors, including the Saqm and Al-Mahajar crossings, to facilitate movement. He also urged the UN mission to compel the other party to open these corridors on their side, emphasizing that efforts are hindered by their intransigence.

Additionally, Al-Moshki called on the mission to support the Executive Center for Mine Action in clearing areas contaminated with war remnants in Al-Hodeidah’s districts, as they pose a significant threat to civilians’ lives. He also stressed the need to adhere to the outcomes of the Sweden Agreement to ensure that the governorate’s residents benefit.

For her part, Machita confirmed that the mission is working to build on previous efforts, commending the positive cooperation provided by the national team to ensure the success of its tasks.
