Ministry of Health: Around 10,000 Yemenis Fall Dead as a result of the Siege

The Ministry of Health announced that 10,000 Yemenis died as a result of being prevented from traveling abroad for treatment due to the siege imposed by the Saudi –led coalition  on Yemen.
“We have witnessed the deaths of nearly 10,000 cases of illness as a result of continued aggression, siege and hostile restrictions on Sana’a International Airport,” said Dr. Abdel Hakim Al Kahlani, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population.
He added that the statistics of the Ministry of Health confirms the need for 75 thousand cases of treatment abroad annually, saying that the Saudi-led coalition committed a compound crime by targeting Yemenis , then preventing them from traveling  to receive treatment , preventing the entry of some medicines, and the continuation of the suffocating siege for more than two years, whereas the general revolution in the capital, Sana’a, is a severe shortage of basic and medicinal health supplies.
“The children with congenital malformations are dying because of the continued siege on Yemen and preventing them from traveling  ,” said Dr. Abu Zeid al-Kindi, head of cardiac surgery at Al-Thawra General Hospital in Sana’a. “The effects of the siege are not limited to patients.
For his part, Khalid Al-Shayef, Director General of Sana’a International Airport, “the number of those abroad reaches 100 thousand Yemenis, including a large part of patients, while 300 thousand others, including patients can not travel abroad because of the closure of Sana’a airport by the Saudi-led coalition.
