International human rights organizations, including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Save the Children UK, said a Yemeni child died every 10 minutes for preventable reasons as a result of poor health conditions in the country and that every 35 seconds another child contracted cholera

Martin Berger, in an article published by the website «New Eastern Look» described that the child mortality rates caused by the cholera epidemic is only the tip of the iceberg of the humanitarian disaster suffered by Yemenis as a result of the Saudi aggression. However, political media and Western politicians are still deaf and willing to overlook the tragic disaster in Yemen. Yemen could be turned into an area of ethnic cleansing and permanent genocide, while new reports of civilians dying by Saudi forces with all kinds of US and British-made weapons remain empty reports.

The writer says: To make matters worse, Saudi Arabia has imposed an economic blockade on Yemen that has exacerbated human suffering. As a result, Riyadh is responsible for tens of thousands of civilian deaths caused by malnutrition. However, the large civilian death toll for the international community is only a side effect of the so-called “war on terror”. In addition, because of the atrocities committed by the so-called International Alliance, the World Health Organization (WHO) has not been able to deliver a total of 500,000 vaccines against cholera to Yemen and save the lives of thousands of civilians.

Berger pointed out that since the start of the Saudi aggression in March 2015, more than 3 million Yemenis have left the country and at least 13,000 civilians have been killed, according to official reports, while the actual death toll is estimated to reach more than 30,000. Up to 2 million children are unable to attend school, while some 15 million are denied access to basic medical care and treatment.

Despite repeated statements by UN experts that Saudi Arabia is violating international law, the so-called “democratic international community” is reluctant to put an end to this tragedy, as well as the destruction of schools, hospitals and other vital civilian infrastructure as a result of air strikes against Yemen. That the electricity supply is scarce even in large cities, while drinking water reserves remain very limited. With the silent approval of Washington, the so-called Saudi “alliance” made every effort to ensure that the Yemeni people would not be able to withstand the tactics used by the Nazis In the territories they occupied, which were later used by the United States in Vietnam.

Simply put, according to Berger, Western political elites are opposed to launching a media campaign against Saudi Arabia because of its continued violation of human rights in Yemen, as well as against Libya and Syria, where humanitarian pretexts are used only to meet Washington’s own goals.

How can not the United States, Britain, and other NATO member states make huge profits from participating in the military campaign against Yemen? During the previous Obama administration, the United States sold $ 200 billion worth of weapons, Saudi Arabia bought more than half, The new American approach, has recently reached another arms deal with Riyadh with a total value of 110 billion dollars as a first stage.

The British, in addition to training Saudi pilots who bomb Yemeni cities, refuse to investigate Riyadh’s relations with terrorists. The British High Court, which is supposed to defend human rights, recently refused to suspend the supply of military equipment to Saudi Arabia.
